Client Spotlight: Caramels.com
Photos as Delicious as the Candy!
I have had the pleasure of working with many amazing brands and agencies over the years ranging from E-Comm products all the way to large, complex lifestyle sets. One I want to focus on today is Caramels, what started as a quick test shoot blossomed into a great working relationship and I want to share not just how wonderful the team is, but how that kind of cooperative work environment allowed us to come up with some wonderful, scroll-stopping photos.
Earlier this year as I was cold pitching to clients, I found a company named G.O.A.T. Foods that had many (delicious!) candy brands. The minute I saw the product I knew that I had to do a test shoot! After some quick emails, a test shoot was scheduled and I got to work with establishing a general feel of what I wanted to present, and guess what? The team ended up loving it! We had a video call, what the expectations are, followed by next steps - leading to our first official project together, rebranding the images on the website.
The Process
The drawing board was a group led effort, and that is one thing I absolutely adored about the team. While there was flexibility on how products were shot, there was a clear, concise vision. It is imperative that when a rebrand is happening that all hands are on deck and that every person knows when and where to steer the ship.
It was decided to do a mixture of E-Comm & Lifestyle to cater to a classier, older demographic. We choose pastel colors with props that showcased maturity such as wine glasses, silver/gold platters, and dim moody lighting with long shadows.
Once all the pieces were put in place, it was time for the fun part!
The Shoot Day
I arrived on set at 9 AM with the crew, leading with my wonderful stylist Mel and members of G.O.A.T. Foods to help with approval of shots. After reviewing the details we got right to work - and it ended up going by without a hitch! We did not have a hand model on set but members of the team were keen on collaborating and offering help, so every hand you see in the images are members of G.O.A.T. Foods; how’s that for personalization!
The Results are Here!
It goes without saying that without my incredible team we wouldn’t have been able to achieve the work that was produced. We were able to capture the beautiful aesthetic of the candies and sauces while simultaneously providing bright and inviting E-Comm images.
I am very proud of this project and it is a testament to how a great, inviting team that offers not just flexibility, but clarity can help expedite a flourishing photoshoot. If you would like to see the site in full please make sure to take a look at Caramels.com!
